Small businesses make an enormous contribution to the local economy and add to the vibrancy and energy of Kimba. Recognising the importance of supporting small businesses District Council of Kimba is offering this Grant Program.

Small businesses make an enormous contribution to the local economy and add to the vibrancy and energy of Kimba. Recognising the importance of supporting small businesses District Council of Kimba created the Small Business Grant Program, which support projects that will have a positive impact for the business and wider Kimba economy.

The first round of the program had an amazing uptake, with several applications from small businesses that are seeking positive growth and looking into expanding.  A total of 8 grants were awarded and given the interest in the program additional funds of almost $10,000 was allocated by Council.

Recipients will use the funds to do a range of business-boosting projects such as developing websites, façade and infrastructure improvements,  equipment improvements and staff training.

The following eight businesses will be offered funding through the program:

  • Acacia Rae Therapy and Wellness – $5,000
  • Gillett Family Holdings Pty Ltd (Kimba Hardware) – $3,040
  • DC Electrical Enterprises Pty Ltd – $5,000
  • Little Coffee Pot – $2,833
  • The Good Copy Company – $4,000
  • Eileen’s Café – $5,000
  • Eyre Business Enterprises Pty Ltd – $5,000
  • Lienert Engineering – $5,000

The grants can have a big impact by providing the extra incentive to encourage businesses to grow and invest in themselves. It also contributes to the wider Kimba economy by employing local suppliers to complete projects.
