Section 171 of the Local Government Act 1999 requires Council to prepare and adopt each year, in conjunction with setting the rates, a rating policy. The policy must be available at the principal office of the Council and a summary version must be distributed with the rates notice.
The policy is available for inspection at the Council office.
Application of the Policy

A rate cannot be challenged on the basis of non-compliance with this policy and must be paid in accordance with the required payment provisions.
