Common Effluent Drainage Scheme
Kimba's Common Effluent Drainage Scheme was implemented in around 1980 at a cost of $680,256. Council contributed $146,772, with an 80% subsidy ($533,484) from the Government.
The scheme is an all gravity scheme, The oxidation lagoon is made up of five compartments, which overflow into a large evaporation pond.
Council recommends for properties connected to the Drainage scheme, to have their tank pumped out every 5 years.
