Profile
Megan first entered Local Government almost by chance. Encouraged to nominate at a time when very few women were involved, she decided to take the opportunity and “give it a go.” What began as a step into the unknown quickly became a rewarding path of service. More than a decade later, she has now completed nearly 11 years as an Elected Member, serving her third term on Council and her second as Deputy Mayor.
During this time, Megan has seen the district navigate both significant challenges and proud achievements. She values the opportunity to represent her community, contribute to decision-making, and play a role in shaping the future of Kimba. Her perspective as a woman, combined with her deep commitment to the ongoing success of her small rural town, has been a strong motivation throughout her service. She continues to be driven by the sense of belonging and welcome she experienced when she first arrived in the community nearly 30 years ago.
Her professional background spans real estate and finance, where she developed valuable skills in business, client service, and financial management. These experiences, coupled with her practical approach and commitment to fairness, have proven to be assets in her Council work.
Outside of her Council responsibilities, Megan enjoys spending quality time with family and making the most of everyday moments. She has a passion for baking—particularly experimenting with sourdough creations—and loves getting away on family holidays whenever time permits.
Megan believes in the strength and resilience of small rural communities and is proud to contribute to ensuring that Kimba remains a welcoming, thriving, and sustainable place for both residents and visitors.
